Cape Coast Manifesto To NPP Government

The Cape Coast Manifesto

Dear NPP Government, the people of Cape Coast and Central Region welcomes you to our dear city and region on your launching of your party's manifesto on Saturday 22nd August, 2020.

Dear NPP Government, the people of Cape Coast and Central Region are grateful for the Almighty Free SHS which has given access to schooling especially at our fishing communities. This has reduced significantly the number of teenage pregnancies in our fishing communities. The people of Central Region are much grateful for Ekumfi Pineapple Fruit Factory; Central Region is also grateful for Cassa de Ropa Factory. The people of Cape Coast in particular are grateful for the redevelopment of the old age Anaafo Market. The people of Cape Coast are really grateful for the full development of the Mepeasem Artisan Village that will see the relocation of our brothers and sisters at Siwdu kokompe to pave way for the development of the Fosu Lagoon Marina City Project. We also wish your government will partner the Traditional Authority and the Metropolitan Assembly in searching for the needed investors in the development of the Fosu Lagoon into a tourism enclave just like Accra Marine Drive project.

However, as a major promise in 2016, the people of Cape Coast and most parts of the region are yet to benefit from your IDIF factory initiative. In addition, your government declared this year as the "year of roads", but we are yet to see any major improvements in our roads, especially at Abura and the entire Cape Coast North Constituency. As you launch your party's manifesto on Saturday, 22nd August 2020 we wish to remind you of some of your earlier promises in 2016 that are yet to be fulfilled especially in Cape Coast and Central Region. We also like you to take into consideration the following demands which are grave concerns of the people of Cape Coast and Central Region

1. An Airport that can be used for international purposes.

2. Dualization of the Accra - Cape Coast/Elmina Highway.

3. Dualization of the Pedu - Abura - Mepeasem Road.

4. Establishment of beach landing site/mini harbour and the AfroBus assembly company under the 1D1F initiative.

5. Development of the Ghana Museum for Slavery and Freedom at the old post office building.

6. Development of the Fosu Lagoon Marina City Project.

7. Development of a Modern Railway Infrastructure.

8. Renovation of Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital and Cape Coast High Court buildings.

9. Expansion of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital to meet the growing demands of both Central, Western and Western North Regions.

Again, we welcome you to the city and Region where everything Ghanaian started; We welcome you to the city where the struggle for independence begun; We welcome you to the city where partisan politics begun; We welcome you to the city and Region that has played a significant part in the history of your party. We welcome you to the city and Region that do not have a political party choice. We welcome you to Cape Coast, “the town of beautiful nonsense” for a reason.

Enjoy your stay and we wish you well.
