Shooter, victim in Ayeduase road rage dead

The two persons involved in a shooting incident on Tuesday at Ayeduase near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi have died.

The victim, Kwame Amoah, died Tuesday after Sampson Zabanga, whom he had confronted for driving carelessly, shot him.

The 31-year-old Sampson also shot himself in the head to escape a mob attack.

They both died at the Komofo Anokye Teaching Hospital where they were receiving treatment.

The Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Godwin Ahianyo, confirmed the death of the two to Graphi Online on Wednesday.

According to an eyewitness, Sampson, who was driving a KIA Optima saloon car with registration number GR 2019-17, reportedly shot Kwame, who had confronted him for driving carelessly at Ayeduase.

He said the confrontation resulted in verbal and physical exchanges between the two.

He said in the heat of the moment, Sampson pulled a gun from his vehicle and shot Kwame.

The eyewitness said he heard a second gunshot whilst holding Amoah who had then fallen to the ground before seeing the Sampson shooting himself.
