In a car accident in Juaso, four people were killed and 16 others were seriously injured.

In a collision involving a sprinter bus and an articulated vehicle in Juaso in the Asante-Akim South District, four people were killed.

The sprinter, with the registration number AK 316 -22, is claimed to have passed another vehicle in a curve just as the truck approached.

The sprinter driver drove off the road onto the shoulders of the other lane in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with the truck, but the truck with the registration number GT 8648-20 slammed into the sprinter's passenger side.

According to the Juaso Police, two people died on the scene and two more were pronounced dead when they arrived at the Juaso Government Hospital.

Three of the injured were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for further treatment, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Francis Arthur, the Municipal Police Commander, who briefed the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

He claimed the sprinter bus driver, who survived the crash, fled the area but was later apprehended and was supporting police with their investigation.
