Agents of mobile money are considering withdrawing services due to the passage of the E-Levy.

Following the passing of the Electronic Transfer Levy, the Ghana Mobile Money Agents Association claims that the majority of its members will close their mobile money companies (E-LEVY).

In the absence of the Minority MPs, who had walked out before the Bill was reviewed at the second reading stage, Parliament passed the Electronic Transfer Levy on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Evans Otumfour, the association's general secretary, told Citi News that majority of their clients will quit patronizing their services, which will have a significant impact on the business.

We may be tempted to stop providing services because the service is currently not very profitable."
