Be patient; Ghana's prosperity will take time – President Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is urging Ghanaians to be patient as he and his administration work to ameliorate the country's economic troubles.

He stated that his government will take time to build the economy, just as Ghana's founders worked patiently to ensure the country's freedom.

President Akufo-Addo reminded Ghanaians of better days ahead during his speech at the 2022 Head of State Awards in Accra.

The government, according to President Akufo-Addo, is creating a solid foundation for Ghana's economic progress, which will be admired throughout Africa.

Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo remarked at a separate gathering that passing the controversial E-levy bill is in the public interest.

Ghana, he maintained, cannot continue to rely on foreign aid and must instead find new sources of revenue to fund its growth, such as the E-levy.

"We must have the pride to recognize that we have achieved progress." We must also be humble enough to recognize that we still have a long way to go."

"We must have the patience to understand that, just as our war for freedom and independence did not happen overnight, neither will national prosperity."

We are laying a solid foundation for our country's economic development. "I am confident that in peace and togetherness, we shall construct a new Ghanaian culture that will inspire Africa and the rest of the globe," he stated.
