On His Way To The Wedding, The Groom Crashes To Death


On Sunday, March 13, the groom, Mohammed Zakari, was tragically killed in a car accident while driving to his wedding ceremony location. 

Around 1:00 p.m., a tragic accident occurred near Fumesua on the Kumasi-Accra route. 

According to police, the groom's Ford Escape, registered AS 3222-21, lost control and crashed into a ditch while being driven by four of his companions. 

The groom, who was 40 years old, died instantly. The other four passengers were airlifted to KNUST Hospital for treatment. 

One of the victims, who suffered a life-threatening injuries, was taken to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further treatment. 

The investigation has begun by the Ejisu Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD).

Meanwhile, the bride has been in a coma since the horrific shock she received. 

According to Islamic tradition, the deceased was buried. 

This latest incident adds to the horrific tragedy that occurred on Ghana's roadways over the weekend. 

When the bus they were riding on collided into a stopped 40-footer container loaded with wood, some students from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) died. 

Over 50 people were killed in vehicle accidents between January and February of this year.
