Accra was flooded on Friday due to heavy rainfall.

Following a downpour on Friday morning that lasted approximately an hour, parts of Ghana's capital, Accra, were buried in water.

The Central Business District, Sahara, and Odawna, among other locations, were all affected by the ongoing flooding.

A thunderstorm was anticipated by the Ghana Meteorological Agency on Friday, a few hours before the rain.

In a brief report, the weather agency warned that "moderate to heavy Thunderstorm and Rain Activity detected near the coast of the Volta Region at 8:30 a.m. is predicted to strike much of the southern sections of the country in the following hours."

As has become an annual routine, several flood victims went to social media to vent their dissatisfaction with the extent of flooding in the capital city.
