After his candidate failed to win the chairmanship race, an NPP delegate collapses and dies.

According to the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Namoo, the declaration of the Constituency election results at the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly has left one delegate of the political party dead.

To Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio, Anthony Namoo confirmed Amaliba Azika's death following the announcement of the Constituency Chairman's election.

According to him, Amaliba Azika fell after the candidate he was supporting for, Awudu Asonya, failed to garner enough votes to win.

Namooo described the situation by saying that Amaliba failed to hit the mark once the results were announced, which were not in their favor.

Amaliba Azika, a Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly Assembly Member, was taken to the Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Anthony Namoo, who announced the death in an interview with Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio, stated, "My condolences also go to Bolgatanga Central." I've heard that after certain results were announced, one of our party's members collapsed and tragically died.

This demonstrates how people can emotionally invest their minds, hearts, and thoughts in the celebration. We pray that God will give him a nice night's sleep. He died fighting for a cause he was passionate about."

The New Patriotic Party has began its election process to choose the party's leaders for the 2024 elections.

Because some party members feel duped, the Constituency elections have been marred by confusion and misunderstandings.
