During an argument, her husband doused her with boiling water, leaving her in critical condition.

Iyanu Ojo, a housewife, is currently in serious condition at the Owo general hospital in Ondo State, after her husband, Oluwaseun Ojo, allegedly washed her in hot water following a scuffle.

According to eyewitnesses, the couple had an argument at home, and the husband became enraged and walked into the kitchen, boiling water, and then dousing his wife in it. He then abruptly departed their home, leaving his wife in excruciating anguish.

Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of the state governor, has sworn to seek justice for the victim in response to the heinous occurrence. Mrs Akeredolu described the occurrence as "bestial and repulsive," saying it was a despicable conduct that could not be condoned under any circumstances.

Debo Akinbami, the first lady, issued a statement through the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Archives, saying that anyone who engage in such atrocious behavior under whatever pretense do not deserve to live among humanity.

"The country's recent incidence of spousal violence is alarming and terrible. It's a recurring problem that necessitates more drastic measures.

The story is both sad and bitter. We can't keep going like this, and we can't afford inaction. Women must recognize the idea that it is foolish to appease abusive spouses at the expense of their mental and physical wellbeing right away.

Why would you want to die in an abusive relationship? Women should speak out against domestic violence and maybe leave toxic relationships.

Let me emphasize absolutely that Ondo State will not be a safe haven for human rights violators, regardless of who is involved. In this case, the Ondo State Agency Against Gender-Based Violence (OSA- GBV) is already handling the situation, and I can guarantee you that justice will be done." According to the statement,
