A fried yam vendor was killed in a fire outbreak in Apam.

Comfort Arhin, a 69-year-old woman, was burned to death in a fire in Apam, Central Region, while two others were critically injured.

According to reports, two men were rolling a barrel of Premix fuel towards the Apam Roundabout, and as they passed a woman frying yam and fish, the hot coal pot ignited with the premix fuel, triggering a massive fire that killed the woman.

The two men who were transporting the gasoline were also burned and are in serious condition.

Before the Fire Department arrived, the residents worked together to put out the fire with buckets of water. In the process, certain properties were destroyed.

While the injured are being treated, the woman's body has been deposited in the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital Mortuary.
