Actress Effie Knows Who She Wants to Play Her Mother in Power Book II: Ghost: Season 3

Because her objectives and motivations are never obvious, Effie Morales is one of the most intriguing and enigmatic characters in Power Book II: Ghost.

Outside of her work with Tariq St. Patrick and Brayden Weston, she keeps a low profile and avoids disclosing too much about herself.

While the TV show has hinted at Effie's history, viewers have yet to gain a complete picture of her upbringing. If it does, Alix Lapri (Effie Morales) has her pick for Effie's mother.

On 'Power Book II: Ghost,' Alix Lapri revealed who she'd want to play Effie's mother.

On The Crew Has It podcast, Lapri discussed her character with her Power Book II: Ghost co-stars Michael Rainey Jr. (Tariq St. Patrick) and Gianni Paolo (Brayden Weston). Paolo inquired if Effie's family had ever appeared on the show while discussing her past, and then wondered who Lapri would choose to play Effie's mother.

"Perhaps like Sanaa Lathan...." "She could be really dope... or maybe Zoe Saldana," she replied.

Paolo answered, "Oh, that'd be dope." "That is fire." That's fantastic."

Effie's mother is described as "a disaster."

Although it's evident from watching the program that Effie had a horrible childhood, Power creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp has intimated that her background was far more harsh than many people believe.

"Effie's mother is a disaster. In a 2020 Instagram Live, she added, "But I'll tell you about that later." "And, as regular readers of the series will recall, Effie's brother is no longer alive. Keep in mind that he was murdered."

Kemp was also asked if Effie's past would be addressed more on the show, according to Landon Buford.

"Yes, you will," Kemp responded, "but that will be in season three, not this season."

"I know I shouldn't say that, but I'd like you to know what to anticipate." And if you're hoping for a lot of Effie history this season, don't hold your breath. It will be available next year," she continued.

Season 3 of 'Power Book II: Ghost' could possibly reveal a truth about Effie.

Fans may expect to learn more about what Effie and Brayden did to Lauren Baldwin, in addition to her family. Whatever it is, it will have a "seismic effect" on their relationship with Tariq, according to Kemp.

She told Entertainment Weekly, "What I would tell is, Effie and Brayden have a tremendous secret that they have to conceal from Tariq." "Cane is a part of the mystery, but it's really about Effie and Brayden and what their relationship with Tariq will be after what occurred onscreen with Lauren." What has happened to Lauren, as you will see in the coming days, will have a seismic impact on our three musketeers' relationships."

The release date for Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 has yet to be announced by Starz, however it is expected to be in 2022.
