Ex-Methodist Bishop to Mahama: You won't even win power to repeal the e-levy.

Former Methodist Bishop of Obuasi, Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu, has slammed former President John Dramani Mahama for suggesting that if the NDC wins power in 2025, it will abolish the much-discussed Electronic Transactions Levy.

Mr Mahama, according to the outspoken Bishop, would not even have the chance to repeal the program if he were to gain office.

The former Methodist Bishop of Obuasi was also disappointed in the three-time NDC flagbearer for making such a statement, claiming that it was an attempt to sway voters.

He went on to say that the country's problems can only be solved by making wise economic decisions, which is what the e-levy is intended to do.

He is convinced that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is on the correct course to help the country recover from the devastation and shocks brought on by the Covid outbreak and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

"As a result, we should all try to pay so that the government can use the money for development," he recommended.

He urged everyone to support President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-plan Addo's to industrialize Ghana.

When speaking to journalists during the ongoing Methodist 25th Synod at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Obuasi, Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu stated this.
