I took care of my unemployed husband for 4 years, now he has a job, he wants a second wife

For young Oforiwaa, becoming the household's earner was not a big concern because she considered it as a wife's role when her husband is unemployed.

According to the young damsel in distress, she adored her husband and would go to any length to provide his comfort during those tough times.

Oforiwaa told her tale on Silent Beads about how she met her husband and the challenges they had to overcome to reach to the light at the end of the tunnel.

She claimed that she had known her husband for a long time and that she did not hesitate when he asked her to be his girlfriend.

By doing so, she assumed the new position of an unemployed graduate's girlfriend.

"Because our relationship was going well, we started planning our wedding not long after the proposal." He wasn't employed at the time. "I was the breadwinner in the relationship because I was the one who worked," she wrote.

"I bore the cost of the wedding because my fiancĂ© didn't work." He didn't contribute a pesewa or purchase anything in the wedding's name. "From the knocking ceremony to the white wedding, I paid for everything," she claimed.

You can judge her as you want, but Oforiwaa claimed she regarded it as an investment, even though it didn't feel right.

Oforiwaa was the house's primary financial supplier for four years. However, there remained a ray of optimism that her husband would find work soon and that the strain of caring for a family of four – two children and their parents – would be lifted.

That day had finally arrived. Oforiwaa's husband has found work.

"I allowed him access to my finances, including my ATM pin, because he was my spouse and we were partners." He was aware of everything I was aware of. That was how much I trusted him and how open I was in our relationship.

"He found a job four years after we married. At the same time, I felt relieved and delighted. Finally, I could see him as someone who could assist in the payment of utilities and rent."

However, this joy was fleeting.

His attitude shifted. He had a reputation for lying and cheating.

"When his pay began to arrive, he began to change dramatically. He set a password on his phone as the first thing he did. I couldn't access his phone to find out how much he made because he wouldn't tell me.

"When I became pregnant with our third child, things became much more complicated. I discovered he was cheating on me while I was having issues with my pregnancy. He then began misbehaving against my family, as if that wasn't bad enough. I didn't oppose him or even try to explain what he was up to. All I wanted was for my baby to be fine so that I could give birth in peace. Unfortunately, I miscarried the child. At that time of sadness, the least I anticipated from my husband was for him to demonstrate compassion and understanding, but he didn't. He was unconcerned about me, and he was unconcerned with the change of events. "His concern was for the woman with whom he was cheating on me," the distressed wife explained.

"He came to me one day and said, 'I am planning on marrying a second wife,'" she continued. You're already familiar with her. So you tell me I'm cheating because I don't want it to be in the shadows any longer. 'I'm declaring it now so we can put an end to the cat and mouse game.'

Each of her husband's statements pierced her heart like a blade.

Four years of self-denial. It was all for naught after four years of loyalty and dedication to a jobless man.

She, on the other hand, was not about to sit by and let her efforts go to waste, so she approached her husband's parents to speak with their son.

According to Oforiwaa, it was here that she discovered something incredible.

"I went to his mother to protest about her son's actions, but she already knew about his plans to marry another lady," I said. "I want him to marry a woman from our hometown so that his children do not go missing," she stated.

Further inquiries, she claims, revealed that her husband had already fathered a child with the girl.

"It appeared that I was the only one who didn't understand what was going on." My husband cheated on me and had a child with his mistress, but they all pretended it was nothing out of the ordinary. No one was holding this man accountable for dishonoring our marriage and making a mockery of our vows."

As a result, Oforiwaa has chosen to file for divorce.

The terrible thing is that I lost my job not long after he acquired one. I'm now unemployed. I'm just biding my time till I can get back on my feet. And I'm patiently waiting for the day he marries his mistress, at which point I'll leave the marriage and never return," she added.

"A woman's loyalty is tested when her man has nothing, and a man's loyalty is tested when he has everything," according to a common saying.

Despite the fact that Oforiwaa passed her test by staying with her partner, who subsequently became her husband, through thick and thin. Her marriage was a failure.
