"I will never criticize Akufo Addo on my Metro TV show" — Paul Adom Otchere

Paul Adom-Otchere, host of Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana, has stated that he will never criticize President Akufo Addo on his show.

He stated that he is unable to criticize him because he has direct contact with him.

"I support Akufo-Addo, you support John Mahama; no issue," he stated.

'Why don't you use your program to criticize the government?' people write to me.

"Is this the curriculum for you?" he inquired.

"Produce your show and criticize the administration." I'm not sure what you're talking about. Adom-Otchere continued, "This is a private sector."

"When the Supreme Court ruled in NPP v GBC, they declared that the obligation is on the state broadcaster, and then you tell me, 'Why don't you criticize the government?'" said the Board Chair of the Ghana Airport Company Limited.

Others are criticizing the government; keep an eye on that."

Ghanaians who disagree with his views could watch other broadcasters who do or criticize the President on their personal Facebook sites, he said.

"Today, we all have media; today, we're all television," he said, adding, "so go on Facebook and criticize the government, there's no problem with it."

"If I support Akufo-Addo because of my conviction and I feel there's something in there that's not good, that's not working well," he said, "I will not criticize him on this television because I have access to him; I'll go to him and tell him and say: 'Mr. President, I believe.
