Joey Bada$$ Addressed His Season 2 Role in 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan'

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is finally returning to Starz to answer the unanswered issues left by the show's most recent episode, after an almost torturous wait. This incorporates Unique's situation.

Unique is a drug dealer and adversary to Patina Miller's Raquel Thomas, played by rapper Joey Bada$$ (actual name Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott). Some wondered if Unique would return to the show after his arrest in the Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 1 finale. Scott, on the other hand, has responded.

In an interview, Joey Bada$$ discussed 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan.'

The "Paper Trail$" rapper recently featured on Mike Tyson's show Hotboxin', where he was grilled about several projects. When co-host Henry Cejudo complimented him on Raising Kanan Season 2, they were just getting started talking about his acting career.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, Scott said, "That sh** is on fire." "You know, it's the best Power, the best Power so far," says the narrator. I'm not just saying it because I'm on it... I suppose I am. "However, it is."

While he didn't go into specifics about the new season, it's safe to assume that fans will witness more of the fallout from what happened in season 1. Raq set Unique up to take the blame for the attempted hit on Detective Malcolm Howard, which resulted in his arrest. However, he was such a captivating and significant character that it's difficult to picture him not appearing.

Mekai Curtis (Kanan Stark) previewed what might happen in the future season of Raising Kanan in the past. The actor told Entertainment Weekly, "It's just the continuance of deeds and repercussions." "There's going to be some stuff that you'll see how it molds and moulds Kanan and what it does to his psyche," says the narrator.

"The family is in a totally new area and dynamic now," he continued, "so it's them navigating that and figuring out where they can and can't tread." There are a lot of confusing things going on right now. It's incredible."

Season 2 of 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' does appear to have a little time leap, however.

Kanan appears to have returned to New York in a Raising Kanan Season 2 teaser recently released by Starz, where he left to remain low after the hit on Howard. Raq gives a passionate speech about the significance of family and sticking together at a group meeting, yet they are worlds apart.

"As we approach season two, Raquel 'Raq' Thomas has achieved control over the city's drug trade, but her son is slipping away," reads the description for Raising Kanan Season 2. Kanan Stark returns to Queens worried about his future in the family business, and much more so about his past, thanks to Detective Howard's lingering secret. Raq pushes the business into hostile Mafia territory as Kanan seeks for the truth.

Lou-Lou has other plans involving his new record company, but Raq isn't ready to allow his side gig get in the way of her growth. Marvin fights to earn Jukebox's forgiveness and become the father she deserves, despite being Raq's loyal soldier. The bonds that unite this family are fraying, but Raq will go to any length to keep them together."

This summer, the show  will return.

Fans will just have to wait a few weeks for the show to return. Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 will be released on August 14, just over a year after the first season ended.

Starz hasn't stated what comes next, but it's expected to be the third season of Tariq St. Patrick's Power Book II: Ghost. After that, there should be another season of Tommy Egan's TV show, Power Book IV: Force. So far, nothing has been confirmed. However, as soon as new information becomes available, we'll notify you.
