Jukebox could be exposed to some disturbing family secrets.

The origin story of Kanan Stark is told in Power Book III: Raising Kanan (Mekai Curtis). The story is set in the 1990s and follows Kanan as he navigates his adolescent years in Queens, New York. The series also follows his cousin, Jukebox, as he grows up (Hailey Kilgrove).

While Kanan has been shielded by his drug lord mother Raquel "Raq" Thomas (Patina Miller), who runs her operation with her brothers Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays) and Marvin (London Brown), Jukebox is privy to many family secrets.

The origin tale of Jukebox is depicted in 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan.'

When we first encountered Jukebox in Power (played by Anika Noni Rose), she had no qualms about murdering and stealing from anybody who got in her way. To save Tariq's (Michael Rainey Jr.) life, Kanan (portrayed by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) killed his cousin.

Fans can now see how Jukebox developed into the person she is in Raising Kanan. Jukebox is hiding her sexuality in order to pursue her aspirations of becoming a singer despite her family's opposition.

"Now people can understand why Jukebox became so difficult as an adult as a result of the things she had to cope with as a child," London Brown, who plays Jukebox's father Marvin, told TVLine. "Her lover died, and she and her father had a tense relationship. All of these aspects contribute to our understanding of why these personalities ended up the way they did."

Jukebox is privy to some dark family secrets.

Kanan has always been naive in comparison to Jukebox. Jukebox lived with Kanan and Raquel for a while because her parents were unstable, and she and her aunt had a tight relationship. Jukebox confessed to Kanan in the first season of Raising Kanan that she knew some secrets about their family that he would never need to know.

Kanan now understands that Raquel sent Lou Lou to assassinate his friend D-Wiz. However, he is unaware that Detective Howard (Omar Epps), not Def-Con, is his biological father. Furthermore, Jukebox may be aware that Raquel had Marvin kidnapped and imprisoned in order for her to take over the family's drug business.

Fans believe Jukebox is hiding some additional dark secrets, but only time will tell if they are disclosed.

In Season 2 of 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan,' Jukebox may have a bad reaction to her mother's homecoming.

Though Jukebox has no desire to be like her family, she has had a lot of experiences at such an early age. Now that her mother is expected to return in season 2, Jukebox is likely to take a darker turn. Kenya, Jukebox's mother, is played by LeToya Luckett.

"Luckett will play Kenya, Jukebox's mother and Marvin's ex," according to a Starz news release. She left their family when Jukebox was very young and tried to make it as a singer in Los Angeles, but she returned to New York three years ago. She returns to Harlem, where church is an important aspect of her life."

Jukebox is still hurting over the death of her girlfriend, so we doubt she'll take her mother's return well.
