'Fighting' between two police officers over who has the right to conduct traffic checks

To determine who had the greater authority to conduct traffic checks, two Ghana Police Service officers had to square off.

The two's confrontation on the side of the road was more about ego than it was about upholding the law.

The perceived lower-ranked police officer was not prepared to give in when one of the cops attempted to use his authority as a higher.

These two police officers had to outdo each other in a viral video as they traded insults and displayed a deep-seated animosity.

What in fact caused that?

On July 20, the Atwima Yabi-Dida stretch was the subject of a traffic check being conducted by three FPU officials, as seen by the Foase District Police Commander.

The cops were then forewarned by Supt. Albert Quansah not to take part in the practice.

The Police Commander's order angered Cpl Boakye, and he refused to follow it. The two officers got into a contentious disagreement over this.
