In Season 2, Kanan and Raq's relationship will reache a boiling point.

The early years of Kanan Stark—Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in Power and Mekai Curtis in Kanan—are chronicled in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Raquel "Raq" Thomas (Patina Miller), Kanan's mother, is a violent drug lord whose hunger for power is starting to go out of hand.

Although Kanan is gradually coming around, Raq's brothers Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays) are aware of the truth about her.

Their mother-son connection will now heat up in season 2.

Between "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" Seasons 1 and 2, there is a time gap.

On August 14, Power Book III: Raising Kanan will premiere its second season, and viewers can expect to see a more experienced Kanan than they did in season 1. In actuality, the series' timeline skips a year, from 1991 to 1993. The Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 single "C.R.E.A.M." serves as the teaser trailer's background music. As a result, Kanan has probably resided in the D.M.V. region, far from his mother and Queens.

Although we don't know who he's been sharing a home with, we do know that Kanan will probably view events in a negative light once he is separated from Raq.

In season 2, Kanan and Raq's relationship approaches a breaking point.

Curtis predicts that Kanan and Raq's relationship will actually come to a head. It's possible that this season the teenager will discover the truth about Detective Howard being his father because he already knows that Raq killed D-Wiz.

According to Curtis, "I think the basis of Kanan and Raq's relationship has been destroyed, at this point." "There has undoubtedly been a breach of trust and a barrier on both sides. The constant back-and-forth of "blood is thicker than water, but I still can't forget this" is just extremely intriguing to watch how they handle. The edginess and intensity that is present really reaches a boiling point, so I'm excited to see how it all comes together.

The compulsion for power that Raq has could cost her her family.

Not only are things between Kanan and Raq likely to become more difficult, but we already know that she has significant conflict with Lou Lou. That hasn't prevented her from trying to maintain an iron grip over her family, though. As we begin season two, Raquel "Raq" Thomas has taken over the city's drug trade, but her kid is eluding her, according to the season 2 logline. In addition to being unsure of his future in the family business, Kanan Stark is also unsure of his history due to Detective Howard's unsolved mystery.

Additionally, Raq can become overwhelmed by some fresh foes. While Raq bravely pushes the firm into hostile Mafia territory, Kanan looks for the truth, according to the logline.

Dealing with Unique (Joey Bada$$) was one thing, but the formidable, charming, Italian mob leader of Newark, New Jersey, Sal Boselli (Sopranos alum Michael Rispoli), is an entirely different level of foe.
