Power Book III: Raising Kanan’:Raq will be shocked to find out that Detective Howard is alive and well.

The genesis story of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) and the persons who had the biggest impact on his life is told in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. In shaping his childhood, his mother Raquel "Raq" Thomas (Patina Miller) was essential. She has set herself up to become the top drug dealer in New York City because she is ambitious and motivated.

Although Raq believes she has followed all the necessary steps to obtain her new post, she never would have imagined that her arch-enemy Detective Malcolm Howard (Omar Epps) is still alive.

In Season 1, Raq coerced Kanan into killing Detective Howard.

There was obviously a great deal of hostility between Detective Malcolm Howard and Raq when we first saw him in Raising Kanan Season 1. The detective is actually Kanan's biological father, it turns out. Kanan had always been informed that Def Con Stark, a deceased criminal, was his father. But when the detective discovered Kanan's birthdate, he pieced the puzzle together and grew frantic to meet his son. Raq refused, telling Kanan to kill the detective instead.

Miller told Vanity Fair, "I recall the ninth episode where Raq goes to instruct Kanan how to kill his dad. "When I read it, I was so angry with her as a person. I had been in the car with her the entire time. The moment I saw that on the page, I called Sascha [Penn, the creator of Raising Kanan], saying, "They're going to hate me! Dear God! Then he made a compelling argument, saying that Raq is taking care of what she needs to do for the family. She has faith in it. I respond, "Yeah, you're right! She genuinely believes it! Raquel is aware that part of what she's doing might not be the best course of action, but she must persevere and keep telling herself to "keep it together, keep it together."

When Detective Howard is revealed to be still alive in Season 2 of "Power Book III: Raising Kanan," Raq will be horrified.

Raq gave Kanan the order to shoot Detective Howard twice in the chest and once in the head. The third shot was never finished by Kanan. Raq was certain Howard had passed away by the time the first season finale finished. She will be horrified to see that Kanan never finished the task.

Kanan will also be startled to discover the true motive behind Detective Howard's inclusion on Raq's hit list.

According to Curtis, "I think the basis of Kanan and Raq's relationship has been destroyed, at this point." "There has undoubtedly been a breach of trust and a barrier on both sides. The constant back-and-forth of "blood is thicker than water, but I still can't forget this" is just extremely intriguing to watch how they handle. The edginess and intensity that is present really reaches a boiling point, so I'm excited to see how it all comes together.

In season 2, Kanan might discover the truth about his father.

As far as we know, Kanan is unaware that Detective Howard, and not High Post, the long-dead mobster who secretly dated Raq in order to mask his gay orientation, is his biological father. Detective Howard is probably going to reveal his identify to Kanan now that we know he survived the assassination attempt.

As for how Detective Howard feels about his relationship with Kanan, you'll really get to witness a little amount of that, according to Curtis, who spoke to PopSugar. There will be a lot of it. There will be a lot of strong feelings expressed.

When Kanan does discover the truth, his relationship with his mother will shift drastically.
