Residents celebrate as the police station is locked due to unpaid rent.

The property's owner has shut the police station at Krofrom CPC in the Ashanti Region.

The police station has suspended access to all general police services, such as the charge office, criminal records, and the issue of police clearance certificates.

Neighborhood residents who came to the police station to file complaints were disappointed.

According to sources, the closure has caused the police station's routine activities to be interrupted.

The police administration was served with an eviction notice about three years ago, and little did we know that the deadline for the eviction was ending in July 2022, according to Kwaku Appiah, the Assembly member for the CPC Electoral Area, who was quoted on Kumasi-based Akoma FM. "The police station has been operational for over thirty years and it has been housed in the said home at CPC by the same landlord," he said.

In order to help the community fight crime, he requested the local police administration to move swiftly to establish an office station at CPC.

Locals have, however, already expressed happiness about the police station being locked.

You might recall that a man in his 40s who was allegedly lynched for stealing was suspected on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Krofrom CPC.

The culprit was hunted down and slain after allegedly robbing a nearby home.

After claiming to have the information and rushing to the spot, Assembly Member Kwaku Appiah discovered the unidentified person deceased.

He asserted that he reported the event to the Tafo-Pankrono police and moved the body to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation.
