Two sons and a pregnant woman were burned to death in Asante Region

In a fire that occurred Monday night at Ohwim in the Ashanti Region, a 37-year-old pregnant woman and her two boys perished from burn injuries.

When the raging fire broke out at 11:30 p.m., the dead, Philomena Osei, and her two children, ages 7 and 9, were unable to flee.

Their three-bedroom apartment became a prison for them.

Fortunately, a 14-year-old sibling who was sleeping in a different room was able to escape unharmed.

According to Justina Owusu, a neighbor, "I heard the woman begging for aid," according to

"When I finally left the building, I saw that it was completely on fire. We contacted the [Ghana National] Fire Service along with other locals, but by the time they arrived, the three had already perished from burns.

Since the inquiry has only begun, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. But some locals think it was intentional.

"This is not the first instance of it. One of the rooms' back nets was once lit on fire, but it was promptly discovered and put out.

Sampson Mensah, a tenant, stated, "So this one appears strange because how can two rooms catch fire at the same time."

The Ghana National Fire Service has promised to look into the situation thoroughly.
