"When I speak, there’s no court in Ghana that can overturn it- Otumfour bares teeth"

In a video that has gone viral, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the king of the great Ashanti Kingdom, says that no court in Ghana can overturn any decision he makes because of how powerful he is.

We don't know why he said what he did, but it's clear that some of his subchiefs have made him angry about a dispute between them that was being prepared for court.

He can be heard saying, "I want peace to rule, but if you think going to court is the answer, there is no court that can change what I say about this, not as long as Sikadwa the Golden Stool exists and not as long as I am the Asantehene."

Recently, the overlord of Asanteman made headlines when he backed Nana Akufo Addo's plan to build a National Cathedral.

In a speech that was given on his behalf by Asafohene, Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu at the National Cathedral Board of Trustees' fundraising event in Kumasi, Otumfour's note said:

"We are a religious country, so it is hoped that the huge building will add to the progress that has been made... to promote solidarity, unity, and harmony among the people.
