Date and cast list for the third season of Bridgerton on Netflix TUDUM in 2022

As more information comes out about season 3 of the popular romantic series Bridgerton, things are getting more complicated.

Bridgerton's second series came to a rough end when Penelope Featherington heard her crush, Colin Bridgerton, say mean things about her.

Now, more information has come out about the third season of the popular historical romance TV show on Netflix based on Julia Quinn's books. This includes the news that the storyline will be based on Quinn's order of events.

At the streaming giant's annual TUDUM event, the first page of the very first episode, which is set to air in 2023, was read out loud. This was the ultimate tea spill.

Lady Whistledown, Bridgerton's resident gossip, did the reading, and Nicola Coughlan gave the special behind-the-scenes bit of information.

How does series 3 of the Bridgerton books go?

Netflix gave a preview of what to expect from the third season of Bridgerton. In it, Penelope Featherington has finally given up on Colin Bridgerton after hearing him talk badly about her to his friends in the second season.

Instead, she is focused on finding a husband who will respect her independence so she can keep living as Lady Whistledown away from her mother and sisters.

But because she doesn't trust herself, her search doesn't go so well.

Colin has come back from his summer trip, but he is sad to find out that Penelope, the one person who has always liked him for who he is, is ignoring him.

Colin wants to be friends with her again, so he helps Penelope feel better about herself so she can meet the right man. But when his lessons start to work a little too well, Colin has to decide how he really feels about his friend.

Penelope's trouble with Eloise is made worse by the fact that Eloise has made a new friend in a very strange place. Also, Penelope's growing popularity in the ton makes it harder for her to keep her Lady Whistledown identity a secret.

Bridgerton cast for season 3

Viscount Bridgerton and Viscountess Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, will be back for the third season. However, Ruby Stokes' role as Francesca Bridgerton will be played by Hannah Dodd instead, because Stokes' schedule doesn't work for the third season.

Anthony Bridgerton is played by Jonathan Bailey, and Penelope Featherington, the debutante behind Whistledown's biting feather quill, is played by Nicola Coughlan.

When will season 3 of Bridgerton be on Netflix?

Netflix hasn't given an official date for the third season of Bridgerton, but since the last season came out in March 2022, many people think the new season will start in early 2023.
