Virgin River: Season 4 shocking ending explained

In Virgin River, Alexandra Breckenridge plays Mel Monroe, a nurse who leaves her life in Los Angeles to start over in Virgin River. Mel falls in love with Jack Sheridan, a retired Marine played by Martin Henderson who also owns the bar in town. But their love story isn't as simple and like a fairy tale as you might think.

A lot of secrets were revealed in Season 4 of Virgin River. Even the shocking ending has been broken down.

There are spoilers for Season 4 of Virgin River in this article.

Inside 'Virgin River's timeline

Fans have been confused about the order of events in Virgin River from the beginning. Mel moved from Los Angeles to a small town in the pilot, and now she's pregnant. Still, the timeline was confusing because Charmaine had been pregnant since the first season, but she didn't start showing until the fourth season.

Fans are shocked that Breckenridge has given them a clear timeline for the series. She told Glamour, "Things move slowly in Virgin River." Breckenridge thinks Mel has only been in Virgin River for about four months. "There's a chart that says it's been a hundred and some odd days. She's only nine weeks pregnant right now, while Charmaine seems to be about five months."

Why Season 4's ending was so shocking

Now that all of season 4 has come out, we can talk about that shocking ending. We found out that Jack is Mel's baby's father and that they are having a girl. But we also found out, as many fans had guessed, that Jack is not the father of Charmaine's unborn twins. We don't know how that will all turn out, but it was nice to see Mel and Jack so happy and in love.

We found out that Vince (Steve Bacic) was the one who shot Jack. But Preacher (Colin Lawrence) has killed him for good, making sure that Paige (Lexa Doig) and Christopher are safe and free (Chase Petriw).

Denny (Kai Bunbury), Doc's grandson, told him his big secret. He has Huntington's disease, which is why he doesn't think he and Lizzie have a future together (Sarah Dugdale). Melissa Montgomery, Nick's sister, has finally arrived in Virgin River, and she seems to be a very strange person.

On "Virgin River," Charmaine may have had IVF.

Fans are making guesses about Charmaine's pregnancy now that she has said that Jack is not the father of her twins. Some fans think that she used IVF to get pregnant and trick Jack into staying with her.

A person on Reddit told Express,

Looks like we'll have to wait until season 5 to find out what happened.
