Annette O'Toole, star of Virgin River, teases a 'important' and 'timely' season 5 storyline.

The next fifth season of the Netflix drama Virgin River will deal with a "important" and "timely" problem that "brings the community together in a dramatic manner," according to the show's lead Annette O'Toole.

The actress who plays Hope McCrea in the show spoke with HELLO! in an exclusive interview and revealed that viewers can anticipate a significant event occurring in the middle of the series.

A significant event that occurs in the middle of the season, according to her, "brings the community together in a very dramatic way." "I'm extremely thrilled that they're going there. It's a topical topic that's happening in our country." We have probably never carried out something like. It's a significant topic, and I appreciate that we're discussing it on the program.

She continued, "I don't know if it will continue, but it certainly is something the town gets to all come together, be a part of, and work together."

The statement was made in response to Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Mel Monroe in the show, saying that viewers should expect a unique series that would probably "leave people on the edge of their seats."

Annette hinted to a significant season five plotline.

In a July interview with Upcoming Beauty, she was questioned about the new episodes and responded, "I believe this season has started out nicely and we're going into a couple episodes that are quite dark."

They're incredibly intense, and they're probably some of our best episodes ever, she added. "I also never say that! This season, I believe, there will be a high level of drama that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. I certainly hope so. I can't wait to start that."
