Here's why the second season of "Bridgerton" has less s3x scene.

The first season of Bridgerton came out on Netflix on December 25, 2020. The historical drama series is based on a series of historical romance books with the same name. It tells the story of eight siblings looking for love. It was Netflix's biggest hit in less than a month.

Why did Bridgerton work so well? The Season 1 plot is fascinating because it shows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings (RegĂ©-Jean Page), on their way to a happy ending. But the hot s3x scenes have really gotten people talking.

Fans wanted to know why, when Season 2 came out and there were less steamy s3x scenes. The truth is that this was planned. This is why.

Bridgerton's first season in review

The first Bridgerton looking for love on the show was Daphne. The queen calls her the Ton's diamond, which means that men will fight over her. As luck would have it, her many suitors quickly stopped coming around. This made Daphne and Simon decide to work together.

They made it look like they were dating so that more men would be interested in her. Soon after they made this plan, they started to fall in love. In the garden, Daphne had her first taste of love.

Things were going well until Daphne's brother Anthony (Jonathon Bailey) saw them kissing and demanded that Simon marry Daphne because he had shamed her. Simon says no, so Anthony tells him they should fight. Simon would rather die than marry Daphne, which hurts Daphne. He says he can't get married to her because he can't give her children, which he knows she wants.

In the end, they get married, and their s3xual encounters are steamy and full of passion. But it turns out that Simon can't have children because he doesn't want to take the chance. When she tells him about this, it puts stress on their marriage.

At the end of Season 1, love wins. Daphne tells Simon that he would make a great parent after she finds out why he doesn't want kids. We see her have a baby boy.

Why Season 2 of "Bridgerton" has fewer steamy s3x scenes

If you want to know why Season 2 has fewer sexual scenes, all you have to do is listen to the showrunner, Chris Van Dusen. Insider says that Van Dusen defended the fact that there are less sexual scenes in the show at a recent press conference. He said that when they make Bridgerton, they don't think about how many s3x scenes there are.

Van Dusen said, "We use these close-up scenes to tell a story and move it along. We have never done a s3x scene just to do it, and I don't think we ever will. It's all for a bigger reason, and this season is a different story."

In Season 1, part of the story that needed to be told was how Simon stopped himself from becoming a father. This is not what Season 2 is about. Instead, it's about how Anthony and Kathani "Kate" Sharma (Simone Ashley), who are enemies, fall in love as their relationship changes.

Ashley and Bailey both agree that the second season needs less. Bailey may have said it best when he said, "Kate and Anthony feel naked in front of each other. I also think that's a very interesting, intellectual way to explore that natural s3xuality, and I think it's a good sign that the next seasons won't just be about s3x."

What's next for "Bridgerton": What does the Netflix show have in store?

Seasons 3 and 4 of Bridgerton will happen, but there have been no official announcements about what will happen during these seasons.

But if you read the books in order, The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me were the first two. This could mean that Season 3 will follow Benedict and Sophie through the third book, An Offer From a Gentleman. If this happens, Season 4 might be called "Romancing Mr. Bridgerton" and be mostly about Colin and Penelope's story.

In either case, fans of Bridgerton can be sure that there will still be steamy scenes.
