“I earn only ¢47 as pension” – Nkrumah’s bodyguard says

Mr. Christian Blukoo, who used to be Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's bodyguard, said in a Joy Prime TV documentary called "THE GUARD" that he only gets Ghc47 a month as a pension.

According to what Mr. Christian Blukoo said, he spent most of his time working as one of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's main bodyguards at the Christiansburg Castle.

He talked about how Dr. Nkrumah survived 5 attempts to kill him and how the National Liberation Council got rid of him in 1966.

After Nkrumah was overthrown, he and the other guards were kicked out of Christiansburg Castle and had to go back to farming to support themselves and their families.

Mr. Christian Blukoo, 85, who is now blind, said that he gets just £47 a month from his pension, which is sometimes not paid on time.

He said;

"I go to the bank every three months because I don't have much money. Even that doesn't happen often,"

"So far...

Ghana! They took my picture and information, but I haven't heard back from them yet. They said they'd send it to my phone, but I haven't gotten anything yet. So I don't want anyone to have to suffer because of me,"

Mr. Blukoo says he is upset that the government hasn't paid attention to him and hasn't thought about raising his pension allowance.

It's sad that in Ghana, even if you work hard, save money, and put it into an investment, the next morning you will read in the news that the government has stopped everything.

With promises to clean up the financial sector, you will lose everything. Who cares about the disabled?
