The Sandman season 2 cast, release date and what we know so far

The Sandman has been streaming on Netflix for more than a month, but there hasn't been any news about whether or not there will be a second season. Here's what you need to know about season 2 of The Sandman, like how well it's doing on Netflix and what to expect from it.

The first two volumes of Neil Gaiman's groundbreaking comics, Preludes and Nocturnes and The Doll's House, are covered in the first 10 episodes of the season, which came out on August 5. After the first season came out, on August 19, 2022, a bonus episode came out.

The first season of The Sandman only gives us a small taste of what's to come. In the larger "Sandman Universe," there are 10 main volumes of the Sandman comic, as well as a prequel and many spinoffs. There could be a lot of seasons if Netflix wants to finish the story, but will we get them?

What Will Happen to Season 2 of The Sandman on Netflix?

Has Netflix picked up or dropped The Sandman?

As we've talked about at What's on Netflix, renewals depend on a lot of things that viewers don't always see. You can read about some things that make The Sandman likely to be renewed here. One of the most important things about The Sandman will be how many people finish it (the number of people who go on to watch the entire season).

The first season ends on a cliffhanger, and the team has said they want to continue adapting the comics.

Neil Gaiman has talked on Twitter about season 2 a lot. So far, he has said the following about the show's future:

Gaiman said that even being number one in the top 10 may not be enough to get a second season because "Sandman" is a very expensive show.

This year, the scripts for Season 2 were written, so they are "ready to go" if there is a second season.

Neil Gaiman said yes when asked if the show could be brought back somewhere else if Netflix cancelled it.

One of the VFX supervisors on The Sandman, Ian Markiewicz, talked about season 2 and said:
